Liberal Arts and Performing Arts Days
For ten days Goslar is enlivened by international liberal arts and performing arts acts. Whether the Kulturkraftwerk Harz Energie (Cultural Power Plant Harz Energy), the educational institution Bildungshaus Zeppelin or one of the numerous programmes for young people – there is a colourful potpourri of puppet theatre, drama, comedy, a capella choir, cabaret and chansons for young and old.

Riflemen’s and Folks Fair at the Osterfeld
The Riflemens’ and Folk’s Fair in Goslar is one of the largest in southern Lower Saxony. Two large firework displays, three festive parades and many amusement rides and booths make the traditional yearly fair attractive to visitors as well as locals.

Arts and Handicrafts Market between the Great Holy Cross and the Shoe Square and open shops on Sunday
150 exhibitors present their hand-crafted treasures in the picturesque streets of Goslar. Artisans put their pottery, leather, textile, glass and wood products, jewellery, dolls, marionettes and much more up for sale. Numerous booths provide the opportunity to watch craftsmen working on their products.

International Concert Workshop Weeks and Music Festival Goslar-Harz
The International Concert Working Workshops have been taking place in Goslar since 1975. Under the direction of Hatto Beyerle they have developed into one of the best summer workshops in Europe. The International Concert Workshop Weeks have become a Music Festival Goslar- Harz where exceptional young musicians are furthered and an emphasis on the musical life of the Harz Mountains is expressed.

International Goslar Piano Days
The master class for pianists directed by Prof. Rudolf Meister attracts many international participants every year. Among others there are also young musicians from Japan and Korea.

Christmas Market with Christmas Forest on the Shoe Square
The traditional Christmas Market on the historic Market Square is a delight for young and old year for year. Many little booths entice visitors to sample the delicious-smelling Christmas delicacies. The Christmas Forest on the Shoe Square beckons visitors into its dense stand of Christmas trees twinkling with thousands of tiny lights and enveloped in the scent of hot mulled wine and tempting winter specialities. A special children’s area near the Market Church caters to the wishes of the younger visitors. Many different supplementary events keep visitors entertained throughout the Christmas season.
